ColorDome Stimulator

ColorDome Red Flash

The ultimate Ganzfeld stimulator

Achieve breakthroughs in ophthalmology or neurology with the most advanced Ganzfeld stimulator commercially available for visual electrophysiology. ColorDome presents self-calibrated flashes of any color, any intensity, and for any duration you require. Generate color-specific full-field flashes or flickers with red (627 nm), amber (590 nm), green (530 nm), or blue (448 nm) light. Program color flashes to achieve any color in the visible range or sequence them to isolate photoreceptor types and functional pathways. For subjects with advanced retinopathy, take advantage of ColorDome’s trillion-to-one luminance range and generate white flashes of up to 2,000 cd.s/m2.

Perform ISCEV standard tests of retinal function

This stimulator supports flash-based tests defined by the International Society of Clinical Electrophysiology and Vision (ISCEV) standards, guidelines, and derived protocols. These tests include full-field electroretinography (ERG), visual evoked potentials (VEP), and electro-oculography (EOG) tests. Upgrade modules extend the test capabilities of the ColorDome with dark adaptometry (DA), full-field sensitivity threshold (FST), and pupillometry tests.

Dark adaptometry tests with a Ganzfeld stimulator

Add the dark adaptometry module to ColorDome to perform a full or partial field dark adaptometry test full-field stimulator. Accurately measure retinal parameters such as cone sensitivity, rod sensitivity, and the rod-cone break. Choose from a wide array of dark adaptometry tests, for single or dual eye measurements, including the Marmor test. Detect cone and rod thresholds, as well as rhodopsin regeneration rates, in fields of view from 12° to full-field.

DiagnosysFST® with a Ganzfeld stimulator

Consider DiagnosysFST, a full-field stimulus threshold test, for subjects with advanced visual function loss. Leverage the strength and dynamic range of the flash stimulator combined with the sensitivity of psychophysical tests. Use well known statistical methods developed in perimetry to arrive at a sensitivity threshold value. DiagnosysFST has been successful in supporting studies on the efficacy of emerging gene therapies.

A normal (EOG) electrooculogram response with an Arden Ratio above 2.0.

Electrooculogram (EOG) test

Run EOG tests using nine red LEDs of the Ganzfeld stimulator spanning the standard 30˚ or as much as 60˚. Adjust the intensity and cycle time in square- or sinusoidal-wave mode. Start every cycle with an audible beep.

Full-field pupillometry test

Monitor the pupil size of both eyes and with the camera embedded in the Ganzfeld stimulator and the full-field pupillometry module add-on. Assess the health of rods, cones, and melanopsin pathways by evaluating the subject’s pupillary light reflex (PLR).
