Get excellent results with an artifact-free visual pattern reversal tests
We engineered a display that eliminates flash artifacts. These unwanted flashes disrupt visual electrophysiology tests that involve a rapid sequence of visual pattern reversals. Using a display monitor with luminous intelligence, you can obtain accurate spatial and temporal retinal information in one test. With luminous intelligence technology, measure with confidence the progression of retinal diseases, or the effectiveness of retinal therapies. What’s more, with its brightness of greater than 1,000 cd/m2 and contrast ratio of 1000:1, this display monitor enables you to obtain test results with high sensitivity and specificity. Adopt artifact-free display monitors in stem cell and genetic research, as well as in drug discovery and screening.
Perform ISCEV standard tests of retinal function
This stimulator supports flash-based tests defined by the International Society of Clinical Electrophysiology and Vision (ISCEV) standards, guidelines, and derived protocols. These tests include pattern electroretinograms (PERG), multifocal electroretinograms (mfERG), pattern visual evoked potential (VEP), and sweep visual evoked potential (sweep VEP).
Why do luminous flash artifacts occur in display monitors and how do they affect visual pattern reversals in visual electrophysiology tests?
Present-day LCD monitors produce flash artifacts. The cause of this is an inherent delay and imbalance in the on and off response of liquid crystal technology. Although this delay lasts only a few milliseconds, it is an undesired flash visual stimulus that adds to the intended pattern visual stimulus. As a result, this creates measurement distortions and eventually errors to visual electrophysiology test results. Luminous flash artifacts can be significant enough to invalidate the outcome of a pattern-based visual electrophysiology test.
Luminous Intelligence improves visual pattern reversals
Watch how a display monitor with luminous intelligence compares to a regular LCD monitor.
To do this, hold a piece of paper in front of the screen to observe the flash artifact produced by a regular LCD monitor.
