Guest speaker: Dr. Oliver Marmoy, Specialist Clinical Scientist and registered Higher Specialist Scientist at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.
This webinar describes the strategies for performing electrophysiological tests in children. The experience of the laboratory of Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), London, is discussed alongside the adaptations and modified strategies in recording visual evoked potentials (VEPs) and electroretinograms (ERGs), without compromising diagnostic capabilities. This incorporates information on performing the alternative pediatric ERG protocol (GOSH-ERG), which has been used for over 40 years at GOSH, as well as laboratory reference data from over 300 children. Further considerations of testing are described, such as inter-test variability limits and other factors that may affect results.
